Community Meeting 6 April 2026

Update from Madi Pollard

I wanted to jump on here and update everyone regarding the situation at the Sellicks jumps.

Like many of you, we are extremely disappointed to see boulders placed on the track. We’ve since been told this was due to reports of further digging in the area.

However, there has been no direct communication or collaboration with us about this decision, which is frustrating — especially considering we’ve been actively trying to work towards a positive outcome for the kids and the community.

From the beginning, our goal has been clear:

If this area is no longer suitable, then we need a safe, designated alternative space.

We are pushing for a purpose-built area (potentially near the community centre) where we can create something amazing — think pump tracks, jumps, and a space the kids can truly enjoy.

Most importantly, we want the kids involved in the planning process, because this is their space. When young people feel heard and included, they respect and care for what’s built.

Lauren and I will be at the Sellicks jumps on Tuesday at 4pm

If anyone would like to come down and have a chat, share ideas, or be part of the conversation — we’d love to see you there.

A huge thank you to everyone who has signed the petition so far — the support has been incredible. These signatures will be taken to an upcoming representation meeting.

Please know we are advocating strongly on your behalf.

We hear you, and we are just as frustrated — but we’re also focused on finding a constructive, long-term solution.

Let’s keep pushing for something better.
